About Me!
Namaste! I'm Sara.
You might be wondering why I call myself "The Satya Yogini." Well, my parents actually almost named me Satya! Seriously! I grew up in a yogic household, and that was almost my name. Besides this fun fact, I do feel very close to the concept. Satya, in Sanskrit, means something like truth, truthfulness, or integrity. It is one of the five yogic yamas, and is a principle to live by if you strive for a yogic lifestyle. I always try to live my life with integrity, not creating falsehood or misrepresenting myself or others, and I try to align body, speech, and mind with what I know to be true. |
I completed my 200-hour RYT from Siddhi Yoga (based in Rishikesh, India). I first became seriously interested in yoga in 2012 and knew right away that I wanted to teach (eventually). Initially, I only used yoga as a physical exercise, which provided great stretching that reminded me of my previous life as a dancer. As time went on, I began to recognize the deeper aspects of yoga, both through and beyond the physical practice of asana. Now, I'm invested in bringing mindfulness and connection to yoga practice and strongly believe that yoga is suitable for everybody (and every body), regardless of size, strength, or flexibility. After all, yoga is much more about the mind than it is about the body.
I look forward to sharing the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of this beautiful practice with you!
